Saab 93F, year 1959. Colour blue with a blue/ white interior in vinyl and cloth. This wonderful Saab 93F was restored by an employee of the Saab museum in Sweden. In the process an overhauled 750 cc ‘GT’ engine was fitted, a four-speed gearbox, and a GT exhaust with twin pipes. The three-cylinder two-stroke engine delivers 45 bhp and the exhaust-note is magnificent! This Saab 93F drives perfectly and the car is in excellent condition! Only 735 examples of this type have been built. The ‘F’ in 93F stands for ‘Front hinged doors’. Saab achieved many successes in the (inter)national rally competition championships with these cars. This because of their lightness, superb road holding and agility. This is an exceptionally nice example!

Svenska Aeroplan AB, SAAB originally started as a manufacturer of aero planes. After the second world war the firm decided to expand their business and started developing and manufacturing automobiles. It started with the Saab 92. The car was given a very aerodynamic bodywork and the car was fitted with a DKW two stroke engine. Saab decided to enter the car in rally competitions which brought great success. The Saabs were light, agile and aerodynamic. This combined with front wheel drive proved to the perfect ingredients for a successful rally car. The make became famous with amongst others rally driver Erik Carlsson.
