BMW 327/28 Sport-Kabriolett, year 1938. Colour ‘two-tone’ dark blue with grey. Interior with blue leather seats, grey door panels and grey carpet. Blue mohair hood and hood cover. This gorgeous and rare BMW 327/28 Sport-Kabriolett was delivered new to G. Bischof & Co on 11 November 1938. Years ago, the automobile was extensively restored to a high level of perfection in Germany; a photo reportage of the restoration is present. In the year 2015 the engine was fully overhauled by BMW Classic Group Deutschland in Garching and the car was fully inspected and serviced. A photo reportage and invoices of the work is present. This specimen is in superb TOP condition and the car drives perfectly! The automobile was given some modifications which can be reversed: the original gearbox was replaced by a Volvo 4-speed unit (the original BMW gearbox comes with the car). Furthermore, electronic powersteering (EZ) and an oil-filtre modification were fitted.
This rare BMW 327/28 comes very well documented. A copy of the original ‘DDR Kraftzeugbrief für Kraftwagen’ (issued 18 September 1957) states all the cars specifications and all the owners up to that date. A ‘birth certificate’ issued by BMW Classic München on 20 November 2014 is present as is a FIVA identity card, issued on 26 April 2016. In the period 1937 until 1940 only 568 examples of the BMW 327/28 were built of which 482 ‘Kabrioletts’ and 86 coupés. This is a TOP specimen!
