Make history

Lincoln model L Sport Phaeton, year 1928. Colour tri-tone pale green/green and black. Beige leather interior and a black canvas hood. Black wire wheels. Lincoln belongs to the upper class American marques next to Duesenberg and Cadillac. Extremely well designed and built to the highest standards. Motoring legend Parry Thomas designer of the Leyland Eight, successful Brooklands racing driver, and World Land Speed Record holder (with BABS on Pendine Sands in 1926) tested and highly praised the Lincoln V8 in the 1920'ies! Automobiles in this class cost around $6000 as a nice luxury sedan could be purchased for about $500 in the late 1920ies. This tremendous Lincoln model L features a 'dual cowl four-seater' Sport Phaeton bodywork by Locke of New York. Between the years 1927 and 1929 only 298 of these exclusive bodies have been built by Locke. This automobile features the original body type 163B with body number 13-291.
This 1928 Lincoln model L Sport Phaeton was sold new in The Netherlands. The first owner Mr. M. van Marwijk-Kooy purchased the motorcar at Schutter & van Bakel coachbuilders located in Amsterdam. 1930'ies photo's picturing the Lincoln in front of the old 'van Vollenhoven' residence in 'de Bilt' are present. The family still owns this property in The Netherlands.
In 1937 the family took the Lincoln on a vacation journey to Garmisch-Partenkirchen in Germany for vacation of which event a photo is present.
