Volvo 121 ‘Amazon’, 1966

Volvo 121 ‘Amazon’, year 1966. Colour pale blue/grey metallic (code 53/102) with a black leatherette interior and black rubber carpet. This is a rare Volvo 121 originally painted in this special colour. In 1966 Swedish Volvo representatives could order Volvo 121 and 123 GT cars in this colour to evaluate customer responses. Only about 6 Volvo 121 cars were delivered in this colour and about 50 Volvo 123 GT cars. The colour was not carried over to the ‘Amazon’ production models but it was introduced from 1968 on the Volvo 1800E and 140 and 164 series.
