Bristol 411 Mk V, 1975 | € 78.000,--
Bristol 411 Mk V, year 1975. Chassis number 77685XX. Colour light blue metallic combined with a dark blue leather interior and dark blue carpet. The Bristol 411 is a true ‘Woolf in Sheep’s Clothing’, a large and comfortable 2-door / 4-seat saloon featuring a full aluminium body, a relatively low weight of about 1700 kg, combined with a high spec Big Block V8 engine delivering 340 bhp and a massive 576 Nm of torque… Some sports car owners, driving flat out at 130 mph on the German ‘Autobahn’, have seen a Bristol 411 approach in their rear-view mirror rapidly… From 1947 until the 1970s Bristol was marketed as the ultimate gentleman’s luxury sports saloon, superbly built with the best materials, perfectly finished with the best leather, wool, and wood, and with a surplus of comfort and power. 600 Bristol 411’s were built from 1969 until 1976, of which 84 MK V models. Bristol cars were exclusively built with the steering on the right-hand side.
The presented Bristol 411 Mk V was extensively restored by Amicale Facel Holland, in commission of the current owner. The restoration was completed in the year 2003. The car was fully stripped, the aluminium body and steel chassis restored, and all the mechanicals overhauled and restored. The interior leather was refurbished and carried over. During the restoration, the car was given a Hollandia electrically powered sunroof, air-conditioning and a Becker Mexico stereo radio, and an automatic aerial. A photo report of the restoration is present. Immediately after the restoration the car was taken to the Bristol factory where the car was given a special wind-noise conversion. See photos of the completed car in 2003 HERE.
In the last 17 years the automobile was enjoyed by one owner and serviced punctually by AFH. Since the restoration, the car has driven just below 20.000 miles, especially on European travels and many outings to the United Kingdom. In 2017/18 this Bristol played a role in the episodes of a Dutch television show which was named “Tom’s England”.
This majestic Bristol 411 is in very good driver condition with slight signs of use to the exterior. The original leather of the interior (refurbished in 2002) now shows obvious traces of use and age. Mechanically the automobile is in excellent condition and the car drives impressively well. This rare and exclusive Bristol 411 Mk V is registered in the Netherlands, and the automobile is ready for any adventure in the hands of a new owner.
This Bristol is for sale at Amicale Facel Holland.

The Bristol 411 was introduced in the year 1969. The cars exterior and interior were largely similar to the 408 and 409. The 408 and 409 were fitted with Chrysler 5.2 and 5.2 liter V8 engines. The 411 was equipped with a 6.3 liter Chrysler V8 engine.
During the design process of the 411 lots of improvements were made and they paid much attention to the safety of the car.
The suspension was improved, the chassis was strengthened, a limited slip differential was mounted and last but not least they fitted a dual circuit power brake system. Between 1973 and 1976 the more improvements followed in the MK 2 up to MK 5 models. Amongst others the cars were fitted with self levelling suspension and bigger engines became available with cylinder capacities up to 6.6 liter.
The Bristol 411 MK 5 was succeeded by the Bristol 603 in the year 1976.
