This rare Fiat Tempra 2.0 IE SW 4x4 was sold new to Mr. and Mrs. Kandora from Appeldorn in Germany. From new this super original Fiat has driven only 24.678 kilometres. The car is in a stunning original condition; almost like new inside and out! The car comes fully documented including a wonderful 1992 press release and a Certificato di Origine. After eight years with the Kandora family, the car found a new owner (an Italian car collector) in the Netherlands. The Fiat Tempra 4x4 was only available as estate model (SW or Weekend) and is the rarest Tempra model. Only a few thousands were produced, and the cars are very rare today. The four-wheel drive system used a viscous coupling to transfer power to the rear wheels when required, improving traction without compromising everyday usability. The Tempra 4x4 was aimed at families seeking practicality with added security in poor weather, towing a caravan, or light off-road conditions. With a limited production of only o few thousands of Tempra 4x4 SW cars this technically interesting car will be of interest to Fiat and 4x4 collectors and enthusiasts. This well documented example is in a near perfect and like new condition and without doubt one of the very best you will find for sale!

The Fiat Tempra was launched in 1990 as a replacement for the Regata, positioned as Fiat's mid-size family sedan and station wagon. Designed by Ercole Spada of the I.DE.A Institute, the Tempra shared the Type 3 platform with the Alfa Romeo 155 and Lancia Dedra, giving the car a modern yet angular design typical of the time. The Tempra was offered in several body styles, including a sedan, station wagon, and even a van. Production took place in Italy, Brazil, Turkey, and Vietnam. The station wagon, marketed as the Tempra SW or Weekend, was notable for its optional four-wheel drive. This 4x4 model used a viscous coupling to transfer power to the rear wheels when needed, improving traction without compromising everyday usability. It was available with petrol and diesel engines, most commonly the 2.0-liter petrol engine and the 1.9-liter turbodiesel, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The Tempra 4x4 was designed for families looking for practical solutions with added safety in bad weather or light off-road conditions. The Fiat Tempra was succeeded in 1996 by the Fiat Marea.
