Lea Francis 14HP Estate car, year 1949. Colour burgundy red combined with a beige cloth interior and light brown carpet. This magnificent Lea Francis 14HP Estate car was sold new in the United Kingdom. The automobile was extensively restored in the years 1986-1988 by Lea Francis Cars Ltd. In the UK. Now, 35 years later the automobile is still in a very good, and beautiful condition! The car was imported to the Netherlands in 2002, the current owner purchased the car in 2005. The Lea Francis was well taken care of, and properly garaged, during this caring ownership. The chassis and mechanicals of the car are in a very good condition, and the car drives delightfully. The wood of the bodywork is still in perfect shape, and the interior is gorgeous! The cloth on the seats, and the head lining is perfect, the wood capping on the dashboard and doors is superb. The engine room is clean, and you will find the wonderful Lea Francis 1767 cc four-cylinder engine with twin overhead camshafts on display! This fantastic ‘Woody’ Estate car shows wonderful original details. Only 916 of these ‘Woody’ Estate cars and vans were built on the 14HP chassis by Lea Francis and their body shops in the Coventry area from 1946 until 1953. Lea Francis always produced reliable and rugged passenger cars, and fine sports cars. The 14HP Estate car is one of the best looking and built ‘Woody’ Estate car productions made by a British manufacturer. This Lea Francis comes with a UK history file with correspondence and invoices from the 1980s and 1990s. A very desirable collector’s item in wonderful condition!
