This wonderful Avanti II was sold new in the USA, in the year 2014 the automobile was imported to the Netherlands. From new the car has driven only 51.000 Miles; this Avanti II is in a super original condition! The Studebaker Avanti was designed by the design team of the world-renowned industrial designer Raymond Loewy, and the car was introduced on the market in 1962. The ultra-modern looking bodywork was fabricated of Glass fibre Reinforced Plastic (GRP). The Studebaker Avanti was marketed as "America's only four-passenger high-performance personal car." The Avanti was built until December 1963 as the Studebaker South Bend (Indiana USA) factory was closed. The Avanti name, tooling and South Bend factory were sold to two local Studebaker dealers, Nate Altman and Leo Newman, who carried on producing the Avanti, now designated Avanti II. The presented Avanti II features a 5.4 Litre, 273 bhp, Chevrolet Corvette V8 engine which is mated to an automatic gearbox and which drives the rear wheels. This magnificent car shows all the original details. This is a super original Avanti II in beautiful condition!
