Volvo 780 Bertone, year 1987 (first registration 9 April 1987). Chassis (VIN) number YV1782687HD001775, engine number B280E AN6170-87. Bodywork finished in Platinum silver metallic (Volvo code 782, slightly champagne‑like depending on light conditions) combined with a warm-grey (taupe) leather interior with black details and light walnut wood inlays. This stupendous Volvo 780 Bertone was sold new in Sweden by Värmlands Bilförsäuning to Mr. Lars-Olov Nordin who lived in Storfors. The car was meticulously garaged and serviced as a collector car from day one. This beautiful automobile has driven only 24.787 kilometres, and the car is in a pristine original concours condition! We are deeply impressed by the immaculate original condition and the low mileage of this desirable Volvo 780 Bertone. The Volvo 780 Bertone was introduced in 1985 as the flagship of the 700 series. It was designed and built by Bertone in Italy. The 780 replaced the earlier 262C Bertone coupe, offering a more modern design. The 780 featured independent rear suspension, unique among 700 series models. The model was aimed at the USA and European executive markets. With a production of around 8.500 cars built between 1985 and 1991 the 780 is a desirable collector car. This example is without doubt the best you will find globally, like new in every aspect! On 19 June 2025 with an odometer reading of 22.046 kilometres the car received its last service in Sweden by Volvo dealer Göinge Bil AB before being exported to the Netherlands. This immaculate Volvo 780 Bertone will give you a perfect 1980s ‘NEW CAR’ dealer experience! For a (Volvo) collector looking for a 780- Bertone it is not going to get any better than this… This Volvo 780 Bertone must be the holy grail…

The Volvo 780 Bertone was introduced in 1985 as the flagship coupé of the Swedish marque, designed to replace the earlier 262C. It was styled and built by the renowned Italian coachbuilder Bertone, giving it a distinctive elegance that contrasted with Volvo’s traditionally conservative image. The car was based on the 700-series platform but featured a unique body with lower roofline, frameless windows and more refined proportions. Inside, the 780 offered a luxurious cabin with leather upholstery, wood trim and advanced equipment for its era. Engine options varied by market, including four-cylinder turbocharged units, six-cylinder petrol engines and a diesel, reflecting Volvo’s broad approach to performance and efficiency. The suspension was specially tuned and given independent rear wheel suspension (as only model in the 700 series) to provide a more comfortable and composed ride than the saloon/estate wagon models. Production was relatively limited, with around 8,500 examples built between 1985 and 1990, making it one of Volvo’s rarer models. The 780 was particularly aimed at the American market, where Volvo sought to compete with premium European coupés. Despite its exclusivity, the model struggled against established rivals and remained a niche offering. Today, the Volvo 780 Bertone is a rare Volvo model much fancied by enthusiasts and collectors alike.
