Alvis Crested Eagle Special, year 1938. Colour dark red combined with a black leather interior and a black tonneau-cover. This gorgeous Alvis Special was built on a 1938 Alvis Crested Eagle chassis in the years 2012 / 2013. The work was carried out by a renowned Dutch pre-war car bodywork specialist. All the mechanicals were extensively overhauled, and the 2.7 Litre six-cylinder engine was overhauled by the renowned firm of van Giersbergen in the Netherlands. Costs nor effort were spared to build a superb Alvis special. A complete photo report of the restoration is present as is a file of invoices. This magnificent automobile is in superb condition. The car has participated in a variety of historic events like the Alzheimer Rally and the Tulip rallye. The car is known with Altena Classic Service since it was completed in 2013. The car has been serviced and maintained in our workshops perfectly. This fantastic Alvis Silver Eagle Special drives and handles beautifully; a fantastic pre-war experience! This pre-war special is suitable for tall drivers!

Alvis history
Alvis was founded by Thomas George John and G.P. de Freville. The first cars built under the Alvis name were manufactured in 1920, and the last Alvis (sports) cars came out of the factory in Coventry 47 years later. The ending of the brand name Alvis was sealed when it was incorporated into the British Leyland concern, where it became part of Rover.
The Alvis cars were of great quality and workmanship and were very fast as well. As for their cars, many parts were designed and manufactured by Alvis’ own staff, and production was small-scaled and exclusive. In the 1920s, Alvis was the first British car model to experiment with four-wheel drive. In fact, in 1925, they even manufactured sports and racing cars equipped with front-wheel drive, which had also been fitted with an overhead camshaft.
