Pontiac Firebird Formula 400, 1971
Pontiac Firebird Formula 400, year 1971. Colour red combined with a black interior. This impressive Pontiac Firebird was imported from the USA to the Netherlands in the year 2005. This second-generation Firebird (1970-1981) is a so called ‘Formula 400’ model fitted with the 400 Cu (6,6 L) Ram Air big block V8 engine. The ‘Formula 400’ was advertised as an alternative to the ‘Trans Am’ and could be ordered with all the options available to the ‘Trans Am’ except for the fender flares, shaker scoop, and fender heat extractors. This example was extensively restored in the past, up rated and modified. The V8 engine was tuned, the 4-speed manual gearbox was given a special shift-stick, a hydraulic hand brake was fitted, the interior was given a custom dashboard with an impressive line-up of gauges, special bucket seats, 4-point safety harnesses, a Terratrip rally computer and a Pioneer stereo CD-system. This Pontiac Firebird drives impressively, and the powerful engine asks for a skilled driver experienced with high powered rear wheel drive American cars! This is a great looking Pontiac Firebird ‘Formula 400’ in very good condition! The car is ready to be enjoyed to the fullest.
