Datsun 240 Z, 1972 (first registration 28 February 1972). Colour orange combined with a black interior. This beautiful and very popular Datsun 240 Z was sold new in the USA and registered in the Netherlands on 8 May 2024. The fully corrosion free and perfectly driving Datsun 240 Z was prepared for the 2024 Tulip Rally. This 2500 long Rally from Bilbao to Paris was completed successfully. This Datsun 240 Z is in a very good condition. The interior shows traces of use and age, and is fitted with a roll bar, special bucket seats, 4-point safety harnesses, Brantz rally meters, a map reading lamp, and a fire extinguisher. Under the bonnet you will find an aluminium high-capacity radiator and the original inspection lamp! Furthermore, the car is fitted with Maxilite 15-inch alloy wheels shod with Michelin CrossClimate 195/65 R15 tyres. Introduced in 1969, the Datsun 240Z is an iconic sports car which was especially a great success on the US market at the time that the US government was thinking of banning open sports cars for safety reasons! The car was designed by Yoshihiko Matsuo, who was the head of Nissan’s Sports Car Styling Studio. The 240 Z features a 2.4 Litre 150 bhp straight six engine. The Datsun 240Z is a beloved classic among car enthusiasts for its combination of style, performance, and reliability. This example is in a very good condition, and it drives perfectly. The car can be used for historic touring and rally events as it is, or a new owner can decide to refurbish the interior and finish the car to a personal vision.

The Datsun 240Z was presented in the year 1969. In Japan the car was sold under the name Fairlady Z. The beautiful lines were drawn by Graf Albrecht Goerz who was also responsible for the magnificent design of the BMW 507. With the Datsun 240Z the factory hit bulls eye, the car became the best sold sports car in the seventies of the twentieth century. The British sports car builders like MG and Triumph did not see the 'bomb' falling... They were blown away from the important US market by the successful 240Z. The Datsun 240Z was build with a unitary bodywork structure, independent suspension all round, and powered by a smooth and powerful six cylinder in-line engine. The 240Z proved to be very robust and capable and it was successful in the rally competition In 1973 the 240Z was succeeded by the 260Z which was given a 2.6 Litre engine.
