Volvo P1800 Jensen, year 1963. Colour ‘California white’ (colour code 42) combined with a red interior (code 302) and grey carpet. This gorgeous Volvo P1800 is an original P1800 with a bodywork built by Jensen in the UK. Only 6000 P1800 cars were built by Jensen, this car is number 4851. The car was imported to the Netherlands in the year 2000, and it was acquired by the current owner in 2016. From that year an extensive restoration started which was completed recently. The car was restored to factory original specifications, bar the fitment of a modern brake servo. Everything was checked, overhauled / restored and or renewed. Only parts which were beyond repair were renewed by Volvo quality parts from VP Autoparts in Sweden. The bodywork was restored from the bare metal by the firm of Hogenboom in the Netherlands and finished with a high-quality paint system. The interior was completely re-upholstered to original specifications and the dashboard instruments where overhauled. The brightwork was perfectly re-chromed in the UK. The mechanicals like engine, overdrive, brakes, carburettors, starter motor, dynamo, brakes, and suspension were fully overhauled. The gearbox and the differential proved to be in excellent condition, these were checked over, cleaned, given new seals, and refurbished externally. The engine was fitted with custom built CP pistons and a modified rear oil seal. Furthermore, the wiring loom was renewed, the brake lines were renewed, all the rubber parts were renewed, the fuel tank was renewed, and the body was given a sound proofing treatment and transparent anti-corrosion protection. This gorgeous Volvo P1800 features the rare original wheel covers, the original FIAMM air-horns, a Stainless-Steel exhaust system and a classic Blaupunkt Munster radio with FM reception. This magnificent Volvo P1800 is in BRAND NEW condition, and it looks exactly like it left the Volvo factory gates in 1963! A fantastic specimen for the Volvo collector and P1800 enthusiast.

Classic Open 2201

The Volvo P 1800 is undoubtedly the most elegantly, exquisitely and dynamically designed Volvo of the twentieth century. The Volvo P 1800 was designed by Per Petterson who was employed at carrosseria Frua those days. The Volvo P 1800 came onto the market in 1961 as a coupé and was initially built at Jensen’s in England. The P1800 became world-famous for the series of "The Saint" in the 1960s, with Roger Moore as Simon Templar in the leading role. After building 6000 cars in 1963, production of the P 1800 was relocated to Sweden, and the car was then named the 1800 "S" (Sverige). In September 1969, the P1800 E came onto the market with a Bosch fuel injection system, a modified dashboard and had disc brakes all around. The P1800 ES estate /coupé came onto the market in 1971.
