Until the year 2001 Robert Fluttert was as engineer the director/owner of an engineering firm. Robert has turned his passion into his profession. He has had more than 30 years’ experience with classic cars and is the proud owner of several classic automobiles. He uses his own cars in historic rallies such as the Tulip rally or the Mille Miglia and for regular driving. Whatever the case may be, it's always for the sheer pleasure of driving them.
Smiths-Veglia, Fine Classic Automobiles trades in unique classic Italian, English and German cars which were built in the 50’s and 60’s of the twentieth century. Our collection is based on the concepts of quality, originality, history and origin. We operate in the role of advisor and/or agent in the classic car business.
In the classic car trade, the relationship between buyer and seller often ends at the point of sale. It’s only after the sale itself that your expectations are truly put to the test. You start receiving compliments on what a good buy you’ve made and how the car has such a great finish. It has enriched the look of the entire street! The motor runs like a charm, it handles like a dream and it is so reliable! It starts without fail every time and is always good for a trip to the most beautiful spots both home and abroad.
Things can, however, turn out very differently. Was it such a great buy after all or were your expectations too high? Perhaps they were perfectly reasonable but they simply weren’t met? Or have you had the nasty experience of being unpleasantly surprised by all sorts of problems arising after you bought the car? At Smiths-Veglia we know precisely what can go right and wrong during the sale of a classic car.
Your level of satisfaction with our classic car is determined by a combination of your expectations and the qualities the vehicle has in reality. This is why our cars are always accompanied by the following documentation:
- A valid roadworthy certificate
- As much documented history about the vehicle as possible
Extended disuse of a vintage automobile, classic car or collectors car renders sales terms like ‘good driving condition’ and ‘fully overhauled engine’ almost meaningless. It too often happens that the first real test of a vehicle after a prolonged period of disuse occurs during the new owner’s first long trip in his newly purchased car.
We are certain that our approach makes us the perfect partner for the purchase or sale of your beloved classic car.
Ing. Robert Fluttert.
